Exeter, Twin Valley advance in BCIAA girls volleyball playoffs

Exeter and Twin Valley won quarterfinal matches Thursday to advance in the BCIAA girls volleyball playoffs.

The Eagles, the third-place finisher in Berks I, advanced with a 3-0 (25-19, 25-19, 25-19) win over Berks II runner-up Schuylkill Valley.

The Berks I runner-up Raiders defeated Brandywine Heights, the third-place finisher in Berks III, 3-1 (25-20, 19-25, 25-16, 25-17).

Exeter (11-5) will face defending champ Wilson (15-1) in a semifinal match Saturday at West Lawn at 2 p.m.

Twin Valley (16-5) will take on Berks II champ Berks Catholic (17-1) in the other semifinal Saturday at Wolf Gymnasium at 11 a.m.

The final will be Tuesday at the highest-seeded team.

For the Eagles Thursday, Maddie Forry had 18 kills and 14 digs, Jenna Gehris had eight digs, three aces and 37 assists, Saniya Odom had  10 kills and Riley Mack had 11 kills and four aces.

For the Panthers (11-8), Mara Nagle had nine kills and two blocks, Delaney Yeakle had eight kills and four digs, Reese Johns had 20 assists, two blocks and four kills, and Natalie Stahl had five digs and two aces.

For the Raiders, Emma Lessick had 20 kills and 11 digs, Jordyn Robinette had five kills and 17 digs, Laura Beigel had 10 kills and four blocks, and Emma Patton had 19 assists.

For the Bullets (8-10), Devin Simitz had 10 digs, Mykensie Reppert had eight digs, Sara Moyer had seven kills, and Sam Scheetz had four kills.
