Family fun planned at Wayne Township Community Day

Wayne Township Community Day is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 2, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the township park on Long Run Road.

This year’s event celebrates  the new park, Lions Pavilion, a paved walking trail with a bridge over the stream, a second athletic field with parking, fishing ponds and picnic area.

Food trucks, including an ice cream truck, will be at the event. There will be soccer games, and local businesses will be on display.

Red Creek Wildlife Center and The Venom Institute will be displaying birds, animals and reptiles. “Porcupine Pat” McKinney will lead a nature walk at 1 p.m.

There is no fee for admission or parking.

Participants are Lio Colon Food Bus, Heritage Hills Ice Cream, American Remodeling, Pennsylvania State Police, Pioneer Pole Buildings, By the Fire Pizza, Farm House Pet Resort, Wayne Township Lions Club, Red Creek Wildlife
Center, The Venom Institute, Wayne Township Historical Society, Dewald & Lengle and Friedensburg Fire Company.
