Fleetwood troop donates to Humane Society of Berks County

Over the past few months, Fleetwood Girl Scout Cadette Troop 1956 dedicated their time and talents to serve the Humane Society of Berks County.

A friend of the Girl Scout Troop reached out to the girls to ask them if they could help making cat blankets from a huge group of fleece remnants.  These remnants were graciously donated to the troop along with detailed instructions as to how to make the cat blankets.  Because of these donations, the Girl Scouts were able to make more than 50 blankets and braided 50 plus cat toys with the leftover scraps.

To further support the Humane Society of Berks County the troop gathered the supplies needed to baked eight dozen oat and apple pretzel treats for dogs so they wouldn’t feel left out.

The Humane Society shelters homeless and stray pets. Their ultimate goal is to reunite the animals with their families and find forever homes to those in need.
