Former Reading official joins Berks County Community Foundation

A former Reading official will lead the Berks County Community Foundation’s environmental and sustainability efforts.

The community foundation announced Tuesday afternoon that Kevin Lugo, the city’s former sustainability and solid waste manager, was named its new program officer for energy and the environment. Lugo resigned from his position in the city on Feb. 5.

“Berks County Community Foundation is undergoing an extended period of rapid growth both in the assets we manage and in the expectations the community has for us,” said Heidi A. Williamson, senior vice president for Programs and Initiatives at the foundation.
“These changes are part of a long-term plan to assure our ability to continue to serve the community in even bigger ways.”
