Former Reading Royal Justin Danforth makes NHL debut with Columbus

Former Reading Royals forward Justin Danforth made his NHL debut on Monday night.

Danforth played right wing for Columbus in their matchup against Detroit. Earlier this season, he appeared in eight games with the Cleveland Monsters, the Blue Jackets’ AHL affiliate.

Danforth played in three games with the Royals during the 2016-17 season. He scored one goal and had two assists.

Danforth is the 43rd player in Reading franchise history to advance to the NHL, and second to make his debut this season. Former Royal Max Willman made his debut with Philadelphia on Oct. 15.
