GoggleWorks Expands Popular Handcrafted Holiday Market

from GoggleWorks Center for the Arts

GoggleWorks announced it will expand its popular Handcrafted Holiday Market to two days in 2024, taking place on Friday, Dec. 6, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., and Saturday, Dec. 7, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The expanded market boasts high-quality regional art vendors offering a vast array of handcrafted goods, ideal for one-of-a-kind holiday gifts.

Leaders said the event is unlike any other holiday market in the region because of the quality and volume of handmade gifts, artisan jewelry, and ceramics to handmade ornaments and decor. GoggleWorks leaders touted the pay-what-you-wish admission, making the event accessible for all, with a suggested entry fee of $15, supporting GoggleWorks’ nonprofit mission and children’s programming.

“We’re excited to introduce this expanded two-day format, allowing even more opportunities for our community to shop, make art, and celebrate the holidays together,” said Natalie Fenner, Signature Events Manager at GoggleWorks. “This year, we have an incredible lineup of local vendors with a diverse range of high-quality handmade products, perfect for those looking for thoughtful, unique holiday gifts.”

Beyond the unique shopping experience, GoggleWorks offers a plethora of activities and creative programs from its enormous former goggle factory campus, one of the largest art centers in the country.

Event highlights:

  • Day 1 (Friday, Dec. 6): An evening filled with holiday shopping, music, drinks, and light fare. Shoppers can browse distinctive, handmade products ranging from art to decor, ideal for unique and meaningful holiday gifts.
  • Day 2 (Saturday, Dec. 7): A full day of activities including interactive workshops, live demonstrations, and children’s programming. Highlights include:
    • Hands-on workshops: Participants can create seasonal decorations and keepsakes, including fused ornaments and flameworked glass pieces.
    • Live art demonstrations: Witness artisans bringing their crafts to life.
    • Family-friendly activities: Wreath-making and other holiday crafts for all ages.
    • Music, food, and festivities: Enjoy seasonal treats and food by Gourmand while music fills the air, creating a warm holiday ambiance.
    • Movie screenings: Seasonal classics will play at the Albert & Eunice Boscov Theater.

This year’s workshop offerings on Saturday, Dec. 7, include specialized sessions such as Holiday Woodworking: Crafting a Wine Bottle Box, Fused Holiday Decorations, and Flameworked Ornaments and Pendants. These workshops provide a unique experience for participants to learn new skills while crafting handmade holiday items.
