Gov. Mifflin defeats Manheim Township in five innings in District 3 Class 6A quarterfinal game

Carly Angstadt allowed one hit in five innings and Kayla Williams went 4-for-4 with a home run to lead Gov. Mifflin to a 10-0 win over Manheim Township in five innings in a District 3 Class 6A quarterfinal game Wednesday at Shillington.

The third-seeded Mustangs (18-4) will face the winner of Thursday’s quarterfinal between second-seeded Central Dauphin (18-1) and seventh-seeded Dallastown (16-5) in a semifinal game Tuesday at the site of the higher seed.

Angstadt, who also went 3-for-3 with a run and an RBI, walked one and struck out 10.

Mifflin scored a run in the first, two in the second and five in the third to go up 8-0 against the sixth-seeded Blue Streaks (15-7).

Angstadt had an RBI single in the first. Kellie Hearn doubled and Williams homered in the second.

Rachel Leaman had a two-run single in the fifth to end the game via the 10-run rule.

Hearn finished 2-for-3 with a run and an RBI. Williams also had two stolen bases.
