Gov Mifflin held off Ephrata 6-4 in a non-league high school baseball game Saturday to improve to 10-0 on the season.
Back-to-back RBI doubles in the first by Ethan Grim and Matt Koehler put Mifflin up 2-0.
Branson Adams had a bunt single in the fourth which scored two runs (one on a throwing error) which extended the Mifflin lead to 6-1.
Ty Custer hit a 2-run home run as part of a 3-run fifth inning for Ephrata to close the gap to 6-4.
With runners on first and second and zero outs in the seventh, Travis Jenkins entered the game and retired the next three batters to end the game and earn the save.
Ethan Grim went 4 2/3 allowing 4 runs (2 earned) with 9 strikeouts to get the victory.
He also was 2 for 2 with that RBI double in the first inning. Branson Adams was 2 for 3 with 2 RBIs and a run scored. Billy Angstadt was 2 for 2 with a run scored.
Wilson 6, Emmaus 5 11 innings
Jack Gabel pitched two innings of scoreless relief to earn the win as Wilson defeated Emmaus 6-5 in a non-league game on Saturday.
For the Bulldogs (5-2), Christo Hunsicker, Tim Lengle and Colby Kostelac had RBIs.
