Gov. Mifflin and Wilson advanced to the Berks Boys Volleyball League semifinals with convincing victories Tuesday night.
The Berks I runner-up Mustangs defeated Wyomissing, the third-place finisher in Berks II, 3-0 (25-15, 25-22, 25-18) at Shillington.
Wilson, the third-place finisher in Berks I, beat Berks II runner-up Berks Catholic 3-0 (25-19, 25-12, 25-20) at Wolf Gymnasium.
For Gov. Mifflin (12-4), Aidan Young had eight kills and four digs, Tyler Knoop had eight kills and three aces, Josh Wert had five kills, two aces and eight digs and Jonathyn Ebling had 29 assists, three kills and one ace.
The Mustangs advanced to a semifinal Thursday at Berks II champion Brandywine Heights at 7 p.m.
For Wyomissing (10-6), Caleb Taylor had six kills and four digs and Brandon Vargo had seven kills, nine digs, one ace and one block.
At Berks Catholic, Alex Goncea had 19 kills and one block for the Bulldogs (11-6), who will play at Berks I champion Exeter in the semifinals Thursday night at 7.
Also for Wilson, Eric Makosch had eight kills and one block, Eric DelPizzo had 33 assists, two aces and one kill and Luca Marchio had 15 digs. For the Saints (13-6), Will Mickulik had six kills and 11 digs and Janssen Herb had 13 digs.
