Gov. Mifflin’s Jayleah Pletz, Francesca Lisa finish second at the girls wrestling state championships

Gov. Mifflin’s Jayleah Pletz and Francesca Lisa each finished second and seven other Berks wrestlers placed in the top six at the MyHouse Girls State Championships Sunday at Central Dauphin.

Pletz, a junior, was the runner-up at 106. She lost 4-3 to Aubre Krazer of Easton in the final.

Lisa, a junior, was the runner-up at 235. She was pinned in 50 seconds by Pottstown’s Xiyah Robinson in the final.

Placing third was Brandywine Heights’ Emma Lukenich at 235.

Coming in fourth were Hamburg’s Shannon Govern fourth at 118 and Gov. Mifflin’s Genesis Duran-Coronado at 190.

Placing fifth were Hamburg’s Isabella Wilkes at 106 and Berks Catholic’s Sasha Schaeffer at 235.

Finishing sixth were Wyomissing’s Renie Harris at 112 and Exeter’s Molly Lubenow at 106.

Wilkes beat Lubenow 5-2 in a fifth-place match.
