The Emo Night Tour is a celebration of an era of sadness and fantastic music. Rock, metalcore (a.k.a. “screamo”), pop punk, punk, indie rock, and alternative rock all fall under the emo umbrella. This event features DJs playing an epic playlist of all your emo favorites. This is a continuous tour that occurs throughout the year across the United States. The Emo Night Tour usually visits Reading at Reverb, located at 1402 N. 9th St., Reading, in November every year, but an additional show was announced for Friday, March 28, to celebrate the 10th anniversary of this event, an 18+ concert that ran from 8 p.m. to around 1 a.m.
In their own words, “Imagine going to a show and hearing Taking Back Sunday, Fall Out Boy, Panic! At the Disco, My Chemical Romance, and more, all playing their best songs…ALL NIGHT LONG. WELCOME TO THE EMO NIGHT TOUR,” a brief, to the point description from the “about” page of the Emo Night Tour website.
Sarah Beber, a graduate student at Alvernia University, is a fan of these events and attended the 10th-anniversary celebration with her boyfriend, Josh Hornbaker, and friend Alyssa Fiorelli, a fellow Alvernia University student. “The 10th anniversary event was fairly like previous shows, except they came back to Reverb earlier in the year, and there (was) exclusive merch,” she said.
The Emo Tour Night tour stop at Reverb has become a tradition for Beber and her friends, “Emo Night is basically a party for people who never fully let go of their emo phase. It’s all about the music, the memories, and the community. Even if you’re not super into emo anymore, it’s still such a fun and unique experience,” Beber said.
Sarah’s boyfriend, Josh Hornbaker, has become a fan of the Emo Night Tour, too. Hornbaker attended the Emo Night event in November 2024 for the first time with Beber and her friends and couldn’t miss celebrating the 10th anniversary, “Emo Night is a very welcoming experience for those who (felt like an outcast), as well as a call to nostalgia from those who grew up listening to this music,” he said.
Singing, dancing, headbanging, and even mosh pits all occur during the event, creating an embracing, chaotic environment for all. “The atmosphere is very accepting. Everyone (around you) having fun and remembering a time from their childhood, listening to the music (that got you through a challenging time in life), and sharing experiences,” Hornbaker said.
If you’re looking for a fun, welcoming event that plays all your emo favorites, Emo Night is the event for you!
