Jalen Hurts’ knee good enough to exit the injury report

PHILADELPHIA — Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts practiced Thursday and wasn’t even listed on the injury report despite the sore knee that cropped up this past weekend.

Safety Reed Blankenship, who sat out the last game with a rib injury, practiced fully. Cornerback James Bradberry (ankle), linebacker Zach Cunningham (ankle) and defensive tackles Jordan Davis (hamstring) and Milton Williams (heel) were limited in practice.

Cornerback Bradley Roby (shoulder) didn’t work and could miss his second straight game.

The opposition has thrown the ball 64 percent of the time when facing the Eagles this season, the highest figure in the NFL.

That’s largely because the Eagles lead the league in run defense (63.1 ppg) and the secondary has been hit with injuries.

Last year the Eagles allowed almost double that rush yardage per game.

“You’re always looking at where you are,” head coach Nick Sirianni said. “When you do any sort of self-scout, you look at where you fall in line with the rest of the league and what you can do to improve it and different things like that.”

The Eagles are 4-0 when forcing one or more turnovers this season, which leads the league. However, Darius Slay’s interception last week was just the first takeaway in 17 quarters dating to Week 3.

The Eagles are minus-2 in turnover ratio for the season.

“We’re 18th in turnover differential,” Sirianni said. “Obviously, no one’s satisfied with that. We want to work at that.”

Wide receiver A.J. Brown not only has averaged 115.6 receiving yards per game, second in the league to Tyreek Hill (128.9 ypg.), but has been targeted 10.7 times per game, tied for fifth in the league.

Brown last week became just the third NFL player ever to register 125 or more receiving yards in five straight games. Calvin Johnson (2012) and Pat Studstill (1966), both while playing for the Lions, are the others.
