Jeff Chillot, who guided Hamburg to its first District 3 football playoff win, has resigned as the Hawks coach after one season, athletic director Aaron Menapace said Monday night.
The 55-year-old Chillot led Hamburg to a 7-4 record, including a 31-27 victory over Bermudian Springs in the first round of the District 3 Class 3A playoffs. The Hawks ended their season with a 35-7 loss to Boiling Springs in the district semifinals.
A longtime math teacher at Schuylkill Valley, Chillot coached the Panthers for 12 seasons and posted a 53-72 record from 2009-20, the most coaching wins in school history.
Schuylkill Valley made five District 3 playoff appearances under Chillot, who has coached at the high school and college levels for more than 30 years.
Those interested in becoming the Hamburg football coach can apply on the school district’s website.
