The Berks County Parks & Recreation Department continues to present programs promoting nature, history, and outdoor activity throughout the month of June 2025.

Tuesday, June 3 | Library Day | 10 a.m. to noon @ Berks County Heritage Center
Join Berks County Libraries for Library Days at the Berks County Heritage Center.
Free | This event is open to the public.

Friday, June 6 | Concert: SlothLoveChunk | 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. @ Gring’s Mill
Food trucks at the event include Lio Colon’s Food Bus and Greco’s Italian Ices & Homemade Ice Cream.

Sunday, June 8 | Herb Container Gardening | 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. @ Berks County Heritage Center
Each attendee will receive an Amish-crafted, wooden-handled tote box containing three biodegradable starter pots, soil, seeds, and a live herb plant. For more information, call 610-374-8839.
Registration fee is $5. Material fee is $25. | Registration is required.

Monday, June 9 | 2nd Monday at the Wagon Works | 11 a.m. to noon @ Heritage Center
On the second Monday of the month, the Berks County Heritage Center offers guided tours of the Gruber Wagon Works from 11 a.m. to noon.
Registration fee is $7 for adults, $6 for seniors, and $5 for students. | Registration is required.

Tuesday, June 10, to Thursday, June 12 | Toddler Trail Time | 9 a.m. to noon @ Berks Leisure Area
We’ll play games, make crafts, and read stories – all while enjoying the outdoors! This is not a drop-off program. Parents and guardians must accompany their children. Geared towards children ages 3 to 6.
Registration fee is $20 per child. | Registration is required.

Thursday, June 12 | Beginner’s Guide to the iPhone Camera w/ Ranger Jerry | 6 p.m. @ Gring’s Mill
Learn how to get better photos with your mobile phone through simple tips using your iPhone camera app.
Free | Registration is required.

Saturday, June 14 | Beidler House’s Spring Open House | 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. @ Allegheny Aqueduct Park
Interpreters and volunteers will be on hand to guide visitors through the historic house and talk about what life was like on the property when it was a working farm and mill. Guided walks will leave at noon and 2 p.m.

Wednesday, June 18 | Drop-In Art Camp: Wild About Wildlife | 9 a.m. to noon @ Bingaman House
Adventurers ages 7 to 12, get ready! The forest is calling! This is a drop-off program.
Registration fee is $15 per child. | Registration is required.

Friday, June 20 | AmericanaFest | 3:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. @ Gring’s Mill
3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. | Acoustic Bluegrass to Blues Workshop & Jam in the Pavilion
5 p.m. to 6 p.m. | Old & In the Way Tribute Band
6:15 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. | Busker Incognito & The SHOW
7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. | Cody Tyler & Gypsy Convoy
Food trucks at the event include JR’s Brisket LLC and Greco’s Italian Ices & Homemade Ice Cream.

Thursday, June 26 | Fireflies: Nature’s Fireworks | 7:30 p.m. @ Angora Fruit Farm
Venture into the fields and forest of the Angora Fruit Farm and discover the science behind Pennsylvania’s state insect, the firefly.
Free | Registration is required.

Sunday, June 29 | Heritage Center Adult Field Trip | 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. @ Heritage Center
Leave the kids at home and experience the full and engaging field trip our student visitors receive. This includes a tour of the Wagon Works and Canal Museum, a stream study program, and a visit to Epler’s Schoolhouse and the onsite Herb Garden. For more information, call 610-374-8839.
