From Berks History Center
The Berks History Center (BHC) is thrilled to invite you to an evening of Pennsylvania Dutch music and culture on Friday, June 27, at 7 p.m., hosted in the BHC Museum Auditorium and virtually.
This event promises an evening filled with fun, camaraderie, and the captivating sounds of Scott Reagan and Pälzer Krischer as they embark on their 2025 tour through Pennsylvania. Prepare for a delightful showcase of traditional Pennsylvania Dutch culture, featuring engaging performances that interweave storytelling and folk music.
Scott Reagan, known as Blohbariyer, which means “someone who lives by the Blue Mountains,” will serenade the audience with original songs and dialect poetry, all performed entirely in Pennsylvania Dutch. Accompanied by acoustic guitar and harmonica, Reagan truly captures the essence of the region’s rich heritage.
Joining him from Germany, the Pälzer Krischer, or “Palatine Criers,” is a renowned folk music band that first took to the stage in 1991. Known for their vibrant repertoire, which includes traditional songs and Palatine lyric adaptations, they have entertained audiences worldwide through their TV appearances and recorded albums. Their lineup for the 2025 tour promises to deliver a lively and memorable performance.
Doors will open at 6:30 p.m., and the event will begin promptly at 7 p.m. This is a great opportunity to enjoy light refreshments and engage with fellow attendees. Off-street parking is available in BHC’s lot, conveniently located directly behind the museum building at 160 Spring St., Reading.
Don’t miss the chance to experience the warmth and humor of Pennsylvania Dutch traditions, all while supporting the Berks History Center. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit the BHC’s website at berkshistory.org.
