Berks Opera Company invites the public to join us at an Enchanting and Fun Fundraising Event on Sunday, Aug. 25, from 2-6 p.m., at the Historic Feeney Mansion in Centre Park, Reading.

Aaron Scarberry, tenor.

In collaboration with Albright College, we will be presenting the classic children’s opera Hänsel & Gretel on Nov. 22 and Nov. 23 at the Reading Area Community College Miller Center for the Arts, and we need your help to make some magic for local school kids.

Monies raised will go towards production expenses, like venue rental, props, costumes, and orchestra. In turn, we will offer free tickets to children (with an adult ticket), students with a valid college ID. We will also offer an additional special performance for local children during their school day.

What you can expect at our fundraiser:

  • Specialty wine tastings with renowned sommelier Marc Supsic @the.wine.rebel on Instagram.
  • Delightful German fare by Judy’s on Cherry.
  • Enchanted preview performances of music from Hänsel & Gretel and special guest artist tenor Aaron Scarberry.
  • Beautiful Centre Park gardens and grounds to explore at Feeney Historic Mansion.
  • Last chance to view a selection of costumes from the fabulous Gene London Cinema Collection.

Add to the festivities and come in your most spectacular costume – anything from Fairy Tale, to Fantasy, to Lederhosen!

Tickets are $75 per person. Reserve at Eventbrite by email at berksoperacompany@gmail.com or by calling 484.752.2462. Please register by Aug. 15.

Also, don’t forget to reserve tickets for Hänsel & Gretel on Friday, Nov. 22, at 7 p.m., and Saturday, Nov. 23, at 2 p.m., at the Miller Center for the Arts at RACC.
