Kutztown falls to York School of Technology in high school football

York School of Technology scored twice within 32 seconds late in the fourth quarter to seal a 47-27 win over Kutztown in a non-league football game Saturday at York.

The Cougars (0-2) got within 32-27 on a 31-yard touchdown run by Jacob Lafferty with 2:41 left in the third quarter.

The Spartans (1-1) scored a TD with 4:04 left to expand their lead to 40-27, then scored again following an interception to make it 47-27 with 3:32 left.

Quarterback Lafferty ran for 164 yards and three touchdowns on 12 carries. He scored on a 27-yard run to give Kutztown a 7-0 lead in the first quarter. He also scored on a 1-yard run in the third quarter.

David Bates scored the Cougars’ other TD on a 3-yard run.

Kutztown finished with 275 rushing yards on 37 carries. Brenden Ackley had 52 yards on nine carries.
