Kutztown Library hosts Band, Brew and BBQ fundraiser

The Kutztown Community Library invites the community to its Band, Brew and BBQ fundraiser at The Grove in Kempton on July 10.

“Like many non-profits, we need to fundraise to support the library so it can continue playing a significant role in the lives of people of all ages in our community,” said library staff in a release. “The Grove in Kempton — with its simple charm, rustic elegance, complete with twinkling lighted ambiance and its status as a popular wedding venue — is a perfect location to enjoy an afternoon out to support the library.”

The event runs from 1 to 5 p.m. with food served between 1 and 3 p.m. Messy Pig BBQ Company will provide pulled pork and brisket, mac & cheese, baked beans and coleslaw. A vegetarian option is also available. Price includes two beers and unlimited soda and water.  Heisler’s Cloverleaf Dairy will provide ice cream and homemade desserts.

Jackee Sharayko, Assistant Director at KCL said, “I love their mac & cheese. It was so good that my entire family fought over it.”

Live music is provided by Sixty30 from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Band members include Jonathan Quier, Lead Vocals and Drums; Mike Shuman, Keyboards and Vocals; Kyle Koller, Guitar and Vocals; Terry Bollinger, Bass Guitar and Vocals; Frank Hoch, Saxophone and Vocals; Jamie Ayrton, Trumpet and Vocals; and Chris Esterly, Saxophone and Percussion.

Also, purchase raffle tickets in advance prior to the event for a chance on win one of the themed raffle baskets which are on display at the library.
