From Laconia Contemporary Company
Laconia Contemporary Company is pleased to announce the cast and performance details for Small Mouth Sounds by Bess Wohl. Performances will take place on Friday, Aug. 15, at 7:30 p.m., on Saturday, Aug. 16, at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., and on Sunday, Aug. 17, at 2 p.m., at WCR Center for the Arts, 140 N. 5th St., Reading. Free parking is available behind the building.
Julia Matthews directs Wohl’s play. In Small Mouth Sounds, six individuals embark on a silent retreat in the woods. “As these strangers confront internal demons both profound and absurd, their vows of silence collide with the achingly human need to connect. Filled with awkward humor, this strange and compassionate new play asks how we address life’s biggest questions when words fail us,” from Dramatists Play Service.
The cast features Lydia Brubaker as Judy, Erick Goldsmith as Ned, Adam Kissinger as Teacher, Connor McLaughlin as Jan, Mara Nagle as Alicia, Frith Rooney as Rodney, and Cat Whelan as Joan.
The production team features Margaux Gagnon as stage manager, Kimberly Patterson as dramaturg, Kathy Galtere as properties designer, Mak Sherrid as costume designer, Olivia Holeva as sound designer, and Jimmy Damore as lighting designer and producer.
Tickets can be purchased at laconiatheater.org and can be purchased at three “pick-your-price” tiers: standard ($13), recommended ($15), and pay-it-forward ($17). All seats are general admission.
Small Mouth Sounds is presented by special arrangement with Broadway Licensing LLC, servicing the Dramatists Play Service collection (www.dramatists.com).
