Letter: Americans who support terrorists are guilty of treason

Editor:

Article 3, Section 3 of the Constitution says: “Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort.”

Terrorist groups such as the Islamic State, Hamas, and Hezbollah have, with words and deeds, declared war on the United States and committed acts of war against us. They are our enemies.

Yemen’s Houthis are also terrorists, supported and controlled by Iran’s extremist Islamic regime. They have been attacking American bases and ships in the Mideast even though our bases and ships were not put there to harm or threaten them. Under accepted international law, these are acts of war.

America’s so-called intellectual elites, college students and others who protest and demonstrate to support the goals of these terrorist groups, are giving aid and comfort to our enemies during a time of war.

By definition, these people are clearly committing acts of treason and should be arrested and charged accordingly. Their astounding and willful ignorance of the history of that part of the world, and their blind hatred of America, is no excuse.

They should be tried for treason. If convicted, they should be deported directly to Gaza.
