Letter: America’s founding principles under siege by socialists

Our republic’s foundational principles are under siege. We may even be past the tipping point of the United States of America inexorably morphing into a Union of Socialist States in America.

A sovereign nation of peoples implies a bordered territory whose populace shares a common government and economy and whose cultures assimilate under universal values such as liberty, individual rights and personal responsibility.

For the past 60 years, an anti-American, counterculture movement germinated, took root, was nurtured and carefully pruned. Now it’s in full bloom — all cleverly cloaked as “progressive” democracy.

Our public schools instill disgrace and shame in America without pondering why millions worldwide still seek refuge here. People come here despite politically correct wokeness, censorship, cancel culture, two-tiered justice and unconstitutional “lawfare.”

Aiding and abetting this is a corrupt oligarchy of politicians, media, and one-world globalists who are pros at gaslighting and delivering daily doses of propaganda and false promises of inclusion and equity. Real strength is in unity among diverse citizenry. That’s why progressives aim to divide.

Socialism cannibalizes the middle class, leaving ultra-rich elites and a permanent underclass of equally impoverished. Socialism inevitably turns into tyranny when the pseudo-aristocrats run out of other peoples’ money to confiscate.
