Letter: Democratic policies led to crisis in Ukraine

Editor:

Democratic policies created the Ukraine crisis. President Bill Clinton and the State Department convinced Ukraine to give up 2,000 nuclear weapons in 1994 in return for a U.S. promise of deterrence and support. Had Ukraine kept any nukes, a Russian invasion would be unlikely.
President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden provided blankets and humanitarian aid to Ukraine, not weapons or military assistance, when the Russians took Crimea from them in 2014 and Putin saw the U.S. was unwilling to meet its commitments to an ally.

Biden and the Green New Deal Democrats have revoked pipeline permits and increased taxes, fees, and regulations on fossil fuels leading to high energy prices and causing the U.S. to once again become energy dependent on foreign countries.

Russia, one of the world’s largest energy producers, is reaping tremendous economic benefits by threatening an invasion. If the Russians invade Ukraine, energy prices go even higher, and they capture vast mineral and energy resources and farmlands. If they don’t, the threat of invasion drives energy costs ever higher, because Biden is throttling U.S. energy industries that would otherwise provide a counterbalance.

Until Democratic policies are discarded, high energy prices and inflation are here to stay.
