Editor:
I find calls to reelect the Gov. Mifflin School Board incumbents as shining examples of excellence in education a bit misleading. More interesting are the findings of niche.com, a research site that ranks public school districts according to unbiased facts such as test scores, tax rates, and teacher ranking.
Gov. Mifflin ranks ninth out of the top 10 Berks County school districts. Exceptional results can be found in any area of endeavor, but it’s the overall average that is most important when measuring bang for the buck. Or should I say the thousands of bucks residents are paying in taxes to support the embarrassing rank of the Gov. Mifflin district.
The incumbents have had their chance and failed to produce overall positive results. District residents should think hard when placing their vote.
