Cancel culture, which has no place in a country that guarantees freedom of speech, seems to have evolved. Say the “wrong” thing, get canceled. Don’t say the “right” thing, get canceled, too.
A number of good Democrats in Berks County have demanded that Paige Riegner, the newly appointed director of election services, proclaim that President Joe Biden won the 2020 election fairly and legally. That’s something that their party largely refused to do in President Donald Trump’s 2016 fair and legal victory.
Riegner is being canceled for what she doesn’t say because she simply doesn’t want to comment on the matter. Just because her former employer demanded the same thing in 2020 that many Democrats wished for in 2016 does not mean she shares his view.
President Joe Biden’s approval rating has dropped pathetically below 40%. Going by what I read in this column, it seems that most of that minus 40% live right here in Berks County.
