Letter: President’s energy policies have impact on heating bill

Editor:

We received our natural gas bill this week. I thought that we might have a broken pipe or a sizable leak. Should we evacuate the house and call the fire company and the gas company? No, it turns out that a failed energy policy has caused our gas bill to more than double since last month.

So how do we get this under control? Should we turn the thermostat down from 68 to 58 degrees; stop cooking breakfast, lunch, or dinner? How about bathing once a week as our ancestors did, or even stop bathing altogether. That would cut down on visitors and therefore we wouldn’t have to turn up the heat.

So thank you to all the president’s supporters for this wonderful Christmas gift.
