Letter: There’s no common sense in pro-life position

Editor:

A Jan. 6 letter promises “A commonsense thought on the issue of abortion.” But the real commonsense scenario is, “What if the life of a baby is never happening and is damaging the mother?” Then, is it really pro-life anymore?

Even though pro-life supporters preach about saving the baby, after the child is born, people suddenly act like it’s not important. It’s like how Republicans crow about being pro-life, but when a child or adult is shot and killed, they offer nothing but thoughts and prayers.

Roe v. Wade gave women a chance to live. People say the decision was bad because that baby had a beating heart. But, if a beating heart can be done in a petri dish, then can they really say that it’s murder?

The “commonsense thought” in the letter doesn’t ask the all-important question: What about the mother? Sometimes, abortion is the only choice left. Pro-life vs. pro-choice. Which one benefits all?
