Man shot 3 times after fight in Reading apartment

A man is in police custody after he suffered three non-life-threatening gunshot wounds in the 1200 block of North 11th Street in Reading on Monday.

Responding to reports of a shooting shortly after 3 p.m., Reading police found Altrick McNeil, 41, with gunshot wounds in his arm and leg, according to a news release issued by Chief Richard Tornielli.

Police described McNeil as uncooperative with investigators, and he was taken into custody for an arrest warrant from North Carolina, according to Tornielli.

Police said McNeil was assaulted during a fight in an apartment. When he went to leave the building, he was shot by an unknown individual standing in a hallway.

The investigation is ongoing and no suspects have been identified. Further information was unavailable Monday.
