Reading police announced Sunday that they are investigating an early-morning shooting.
Police gave this account:
Around 2:30 a.m. Sunday, a 37-year-old male arrived at Reading Hospital with a gunshot wound. A security guard at a bar in downtown Reading, he was shot in the back as he was getting into his car. While driving himself to the hospital, he crashed his car at Fifth Avenue and Spruce Street in West Reading and walked the rest of the way. He was alert and talking at the hospital.
Investigators believe the shooter may have been someone the victim threw out of the bar earlier.
