Monday’s Berks field hockey results: Hamburg wins a thriller over Conrad Weiser

Freshman Ali Wertz scored the second of her two goals in overtime to give Hamburg a 3-2 victory over Conrad Weiser in field hockey on Monday.

Wertz scored the game-winner on an assist from Marci Dellamonica.

Madison Derfler put the Scouts ahead 1-0 in the first quarter on an assist from Leah Shannon, and then Skylir Berger made it 2-0 in the third quarter on an assist from Allie Horack.

The Hawks rallied in the fourth quarter with Wertz scoring on an assist from Kaida Chwatek.

Chwatek then tied the game on an assist from Alaena Cox.

The Scouts had an 11-8 edge in shots.

Conrad Weiser goalie Megan Manbeck made five saves, and Devon Frantz made eight for the Hawks.

Berks Catholic 5, Fleetwood 1

Lily Wolf scored three goals and Caroline Reimel had two has Berks Catholic defeated Fleetwood 5-1 in field hockey on Monday.

Parker Krajsa had an assist for the Saints, who had a 13-3 edge in shots.

Berks Catholic goalie Angelina Goodman made one save, and Julia Kramer had a defensive save.

Zofia Funari scored for the Tigers, on an assist from Sarah Snyder.

Fleetwood goalie Hailey Eckert made six saves, and Cadence Franco had two defensive saves.

Oley Valley 1, Northwestern Lehigh 0

Cassidy Clark scored in the fourth quarter to lift Oley Valley to a 1-0 victory over Northwestern Lehigh in a non-league field hockey match on Monday.

Oley had an 8-1 edge in shots.

Oley Valley goalies Megan Schaeffer (1) and Charlotte Prout (0) combined for one save.

Northwestern Lehigh goalie Ryan Smolinsky made seven saves.

Oley Valley won last year’s District 3 and PIAA title in Class 1A. Northwestern Lehigh won the District 11 title in Class 1A and lost in the first round of the PIAA tournament to Bishop McDevitt.
