Muhlenberg’s Sydney Gring is seeded first in the 200 free and second in the 100 free in Class 3A, while the Schuylkill Valley girls 200 medley relay team is seeded second in Class 2A for the upcoming PIAA Swimming and Diving Championships, according to psych sheets released Tuesday.
Gring, a senior, is seeded first in the 200 free in 1:46.47, more than two seconds ahead of second-seeded Katya Eruslanova of Haverford (1:48.74). Gring is seeded second in the 100 free in 49.54. Downingtown East’s Alex Fulton, the defending champ, is seeded first in 49.17.
Gring won both events at the District 3 championships for the second straight year. She finished second in the 200 free and third in the 100 free last year at states.
The Panthers relay team of Jenna Kirby, Annie Gao, Nya Solvino and Emily Gao, which won District 3 gold, is seeded second in 1:49.08. Mount Pleasant is the top seed in 1:45.86.
There are 90 Berks entries, according to the psych sheets, with 16 other individuals or relays earning top-eight seeds for the meet at Bucknell University’s Kinney Natatorium.
Competition in Class 2A is Wednesday, March 15, and Thursday, March 16. Competition in Class 3A is Friday, March 17, and Saturday, March 18.
