Oley Valley and Twin Valley have been dominant during the PIAA playoffs and throughout the postseason.
But the Lynx and Raiders each will have to get past a strong opponent to reach state championship games on Saturday.
District 3 champion Twin Valley (25-2) faces District 11 champion Southern Lehigh (23-0) at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in the first game of a Class 2A doubleheader at Exeter. District 3 champion Oley Valley (23-2) will play District 2 runner-up Wyoming Area (19-3) in the second game of a Class 1A doubleheader at Whitehall Tuesday at 6 p.m.
Berks champion Twin Valley has scored five goals in each of its PIAA victories this season, including a 5-0 win over Archbishop Carroll on Saturday.
Senior Natali Foster leads the Raiders and Berks County with 62 goals and 49 assists this season. For her career, the Drexel University commit has amassed 140 goals and 124 assists.
Foster is complemented on offense by Saint Joseph’s recruit Emma Winther and Ohio State recruit Makayla Carahaly. Winther has 30 goals and 37 assists. Carahaly has 24 goals and 13 assists.
The Raiders are trying to get back to the state championship game for the first time since they won the Class 2A title in 2015.
Southern Lehigh will provide stiff competition. The Spartans knocked off perennial state contender Villa Maria 3-2 Saturday in the quarterfinals behind three goals from sophomore Iris Gluck.
Southern Lehigh also features Hofstra recruit Riley McIntosh.
Oley Valley is looking to return to the state finals after losing there in 2019 and 2016. The Lynx have been to four state championship games since winning the second of their two state titles in 2000.
The Lynx have reached the state semifinals for the fifth time in eight years by downing Palisades 9-2 and Lancaster Mennonite 5-0.
Five players scored in the win over Lancaster Mennonite as the Lynx continued their balanced offensive attack. Alexandra Lopez leads the Lynx with 19 goals and nine assists, followed by Mia Woodard with 18 goals and five assists and Karlee Howard with 16 goals and eight assists.
Seven Oley Valley players have scored more than 10 goals this season.
Wyoming Area features a strong defensive team that has posted 14 shutouts in 22 games. Bianca Pizano and Nina Angeli scored two goals each Saturday in the Warriors’ 5-0 quarterfinal win over Dock Mennonite.
This will be the second time in three years Oley Valley and Wyoming Area have met in the state semifinals. The Lynx defeated the Warriors 2-0 in the 2019 semifinals.
The winners will advance to championships games Saturday at Whitehall. The Class 1A championship game is scheduled for 10 a.m., followed by the 2A title game at 12:30 p.m.
Three-time defending state champion Wyoming Seminary faces Line Mountain at 4 p.m. at Whitehall in the first Class 1A semifinal Tuesday.
Gwynedd Mercy will play Mechanicsburg in the second Class 2A semifinal at Exeter at 7:30 p.m.
