Outstanding performances by Berks athletes from Aug. 26-30

Here’s some of the top performances by Berks high school athletes for the week of Aug. 26-30:

Boys cross country

Oley Valley junior Ryan Gourley finished ninth overall at the Northampton Invitational after finishing the race in 16:01.

Girls cross country

Twin Valley junior Riley Servis set a new school record on the Raider’s home course after finishing in 19:37.87. Servis placed second overall against competition from Downingtown East and Great Valley.

Field hockey

Wyomissing junior Gianna Carlino scored two goals and assisted on another as Wyomissing defeated Octorara 4-2.

Football

Twin Valley senior quarterback Evan Myers scored four rushing touchdowns and rushed 12 times for 84 yards to help lead the Raiders to a 40-10 victory over Selinsgrove. Myers was also 12-for-18 passing for 124 passing yards.

Golf

Fleetwood sophomore Cameron Peffel shot a two-over 37 at Rich Maiden Golf Course to help lead the Tigers to a 163-188 win over Kutztown.

Boys soccer

Brandywine Heights junior Nate Winkler scored two goals, including the game-winner in overtime, to give the Bullets a 2-1 win over Mt. Calvary.

Girls soccer

Fleetwood senior Lily Wendt scored three goals to lead Fleetwood to a 3-2 win over Southern Lehigh.

Girls tennis 

Hamburg senior Mia Gassert earned a victory in No. 1 singles to help lead the Hawks to a 4-3 win over Northern Lebanon.

Girls volleyball

Exeter sophomore Taylor Mack had 15 kills, 5 digs and two aces to help lead the Eagles to a 3-0 win over Fleetwood.

Boys water polo

Wilson senior Ezekiel Eberly scored 12 goals over three games to help the Bulldogs go 3-0 over the weekend. Eberly had five goals in a 12-5 victory over Souderton, two goals in a 18-10 win over Upper Merion and five goals in a 13-4 win over North Penn.

Girls water polo 

Wilson junior Evelyn Quick scored six goals over two games to help the Bulldogs go 2-0 on Saturday. Quick scored four goals in the Bulldogs’ 14-4 win over Souderton and two goals in Wilson’s 7-5 win over North Penn.
