Pair of third period goals lift Reading Royals over Trois-Rivières

A pair of crucial third-period goals propelled Reading to a victory on Friday night.

With the score tied, forward Brad Morrison scored the game-winning goal midway through the third before forward Patrick Bajkov scored an insurance goal with 46 seconds remaining to give the Royals a 6-4 win over Trois-Rivières in an ECHL game at Santander Arena.

In the first matchup of a two-game series, each team scored three goals in the first period and one in the second.

Defenseman Mason Millman and forwards Thomas Ebbing, Trevor Gooch and Bajkov scored for Reading in the first two periods.

Bajkov finished with two goals and an assist. Morrison had four assists to go with his goal.

The Royals outshot the Lions 35-30. Reading goaltender Hayden Hawkey made 26 saves.
