Quarterbacks
C: Drew Allar accounted for 280 yards and four touchdowns and played brilliantly at times, but his two interceptions cost the Lions seven points and a chance to tie.
Running backs
A: Kaytron Allen and Nick Singleton were magnificent, combining to rush for 229 yards on 24 carries and averaging almost 10 yards a carry.
Receivers
B: Harrison Wallace III and Omari Evans each had a touchdown catch with Oregon often double-teaming Tyler Warren.
Offensive linemen
A: The blockers enabled Penn State to rush for 292 yards and gain 518 total yards against one of the best defenses in the country.
Defensive linemen
D: They sacked Dillon Gabriel just once and allowed the Ducks to rush for 183 yards, the second-most by a Penn State opponent.
Linebackers
D: Kobe King made a game-high 10 tackles, but Oregon backs often had wide rushing lanes to gain big chunks of yardage.
Defensive backs
D: Oregon’s Tez Johnson burned the secondary for a record 181 yards. The defensive backs sometimes looked confused about the Ducks’ motion and crossing routes.
Special teams
B: Riley Thompson punted well and the Lions covered kicks well, but Ryan Barker missed a 40-yard field goal.
Coaches
C: James Franklin and his staff get high marks for Penn State not folding after Oregon built an early 18-point lead and low marks for going for 2 points after a fourth-quarter TD and choosing to throw a deep pass on a potential game-tying drive.
