PennDOT seeking input on project to replace Route 419 span in western Berks

PennDOT is inviting the public to view plans and submit comments for a project to replace a culvert over Mill Creek on Route 419 in Tulpehocken Township.

The virtual plans display will include project features and the anticipated construction schedule. Proposed improvements consist of replacing the single-span concrete arch culvert with a precast concrete box culvert. Proposed work will also include reconstructing the approaches, updating guide rail and related soil grading.

The purpose of the display is to introduce the project and solicit public input, questions or concerns about the project. It is also an opportunity for the public to review and comment on the project’s potential impact on cultural resources.

Businesses, property owners and others with a demonstrated interest in the project are encouraged to participate, officials said.

To access the webpage, visit and click on the “Public Meetings.” Select the “Berks County” box, then choose the “PA 419 Section 01B Culvert Replacement project” tile. The digital version of the information will be available until Dec. 5.
