PIAA boys lacrosse playoffs: Twin Valley rallies to edge Devon Prep in 2A

Drew Engle scored the game-winning goal with 13 seconds left to give Twin Valley a 9-8 win over Devon Prep in the first round of the PIAA Class 2A boys lacrosse tournament on Tuesday at LaSalle College High School.

Twin Valley trailed 7-5 entering the final period, but after Cooper Glass scored for the Raiders, Engle scored twice, the first knotting the game up and the second being the game-winner.

Engle (1 assist) and Colin Gallagher each scored 3 goals for the Raiders (19-5) who advance to Saturday’s quarterfinals to play the winner of Crestwood-Lampeter Strasburg.

After a 2-2 tie at the end of the first quarter, Devon Prep, the District 12 champion, led 5-2 at halftime and 7-5 entering the final period.

For Twin Valley, which was third in District 3, Glass had 2 goals and Patrick Shanahan one. Keenan Munn and AJ Crisi each had 2 assists and Aidan Miller had one.

Twin Valley goalie Dylan Corros made 14 saves.
