The following information is taken from police reports and court records.
Overdose Investigation Arrest: On June 7, state police investigators arrested Ashley Fritz, 37, of Shamokin. She was charged with drug delivery resulting in death, criminal use of a communication facility, involuntary manslaughter and recklessly endangering another person after an investigation determined that she purchased and delivered heroin to Sean Douglas Tosh of Tremont, who died of an overdose in August. Troopers said Fritz confessed to buying heroin for the purposes of delivering it to the victim. She was arraigned at District Court 21-3-04 by MDJ David Rossi who set bail at $50,000 cash. Fritz failed to post bail and was transported to Schuylkill County Prison.
Drug Possession: On June 2 at about 6:40 p.m., state police at Schuylkill Haven responded to Route 61 South in North Manheim Township for the report of a crash. Police discovered the driver suffered a medical episode. After a search of the vehicle marijuana was found. Police continue to investigate.
Theft: On May 27, troopers were dispatched to 179 Pleasant Valley Road in Pine Grove Township for a stolen red and white Honda CRF – 70 CC dirt bike. Police are investigating.
DUI Crash: On April 30 at about 6:20 p.m. a patrol unit of the state police at Schuylkill Haven was dispatched to the intersection of Shermans Mountain and Commonwealth roads in Frailey Township for an accident. The driver of a pickup truck was found to be under the influence of alcohol/controlled substance and was arrested.
