Police reports, Nov. 18, 2021

The following information is taken from police reports and court records.

Crash: On Nov. 8 at about 12:35 a.m., a police vehicle struck a deer on Route 443 in Union Township. The car had front end damage and was towed. The driver was not injured.

Suspicious person: On Nov. 7, a trooper was dispatched to Suedberg Road in Pine Grove Township regarding a suspicious person. On Oct. 28 at around 5:20 a.m., an infrared trail camera captured photographs of a white man with a beard pulling a handcart carrying what seemed to be a radiator from a large vehicle. Anyone who has had a similar vehicle part stolen since Oct. 28 is encouraged to contact state police at 570-754-4600 and reference incident number PA 2021-1481473.

Theft by deception: On Nov. 6, state police were dispatched to South Street in Wayne Township to investigate $1,050 in fraudulent charges on a Friedensburg woman’s debit card. Anyone with information is asked to contact state police at 570-754-4600 and reference incident number PA 2021-1476881.

Theft: On Nov. 6, state police received a report of theft of a handgun out of a Pine Grove man’s SUV on Marsha Drive in Cressona. The man told police that the gun was believed to be taken between Oct. 23 and Nov. 6. The man was notified of the theft by his friend who had been borrowing his handgun.

Crash: On Nov. 5 at about 6:30 p.m., state police responded to an accident on Route 443 near Sunnyside Drive in Pine Grove Township. Renee Hughes, 54, Pine Grove, struck a deer. Her vehicle was towed. There were no injuries.

Crash: On Nov. 4 at about 8 a.m. state police responded to a crash on the Gordon Nagle Trail west of Cressona Road. Todd Tyson, 42, Pottsville, sideswiped an unidentified trailer, then collided head-on with a van, which overturned. Tyson was extracted by mechanical means from his SUV. There were no injuries.

Crash: On Nov. 4 at about 1 p.m., state police received multiple calls of an erratic driver who had just struck two mailboxes on Long Run Road in Wayne Township. The driver, Amy Kirkpatrick, 51, Schuylkill Haven, was located at Just Your Style Salon and arrested for DUI.

Drug possession: On Nov. 4, state police conducted a traffic stop on East Market and Charles streets in Pottsville, for a vehicle code violation. The driver was found to be in possession of methamphetamine. Charges are pending further investigation.

Crash: On Nov. 4 at about 9:45 p.m., state police responded to a crash at 116 Fountain Road in Hegins Township. Alexander Mahoney, 30, Valley View, crashed into a utility pole and hit a tree. Mahoney was transported by Hegins Area Ambulance Association for his injuries. After investigation it was determined the driver was driving under the influence of alcohol and was charged.

Theft: State police were dispatched to Panther Valley Road in Wayne Township for the theft of a “Trump 2024” flag valued at approximately $13. When police arrived, the Pine Grove man told them the theft happened on Nov. 1 between about 1 and 5 a.m. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact state police at 570-754-4600 and reference incident number PA 2021-1469594.

Criminal mischief: On Oct. 27 at about 12:20 p.m. state police responded to the report of a found firearm at 201 Front St., Auburn. It was determined the firearm was used as a blunt object to damage the side of the Auburn Hose Company. Police arrested Timothy Hagedorn, 35, Auburn, and continue to investigate.

Crash: On Oct. 23 at about 1 a.m. state police responded to an accident on Route 443 west of Geary Wolfe Road in Pine Grove Township. Daniel Perez, 33, Allentown, struck a deer. Perez’s SUV had moderate damage to the front end and was towed from the scene. There were no injuries.
