Police reports, Nov. 25, 2021

The following information is taken from police reports and court records.

Crash: On Nov. 14 at about 5:30 p.m., state police responded to an accident on Route 61 west of Ryon Lane in North Manheim Township. Jasmine Schultz, 19, Port Carbon, was driving north in the left lane of Route 61 when she struck a deer, causing disabling damage to her car. Schultz was not injured.

Criminal trespass: On Nov. 14 at about 6:20 p.m. state police responded to a disturbance at 189 Suedberg Road in Pine Grove Township. Troopers said Roy Boyer, 49, Bernville, was trying to get into the residence by smashing a window with a decorative wooden sign. Boyer was arrested. Police continue to investigate.

Fleeing and eluding: on Nov. 13 at about 3 a.m. state police attempted to initiate a traffic stop at the Ravine truck stop in Pine Grove Township. Police pursued the driver when he did not stop. The pursuit lasted about five minutes and ended when the driver struck a tree. The driver, James Beuchler, 41, Pine Grove, was detained. Police found drug paraphernalia in plain view in the car. Beuchler showed signs of impairment and refused consent to chemical testing. State police prepared charges against him Bail was set by District Magistrate Kilker at 10% of $25,000.

Criminal mischief: It was reported to state police that sometime between Nov. 13 and 14 someone shot about 10 orange paintballs at a residence on Third Street in Auburn, then fled.

Crash: On Nov. 12 at about 5 p.m. state police responded to an accident on Route 901 at Deep Creek Road in Barry Township. Georgine Rebuck, 65, Hegins, struck the driver’s side of a vehicle driven by Larry Reedy, 78, Ashland. Reedy’s vehicle struck a stopped SUV driven by Michael St Angelo, 77, Leesport. One person suffered a minor injury. All vehicles were towed.

Crash: On Nov. 12 at about 6:25 p.m. state police responded to an accident on Route 61 at the Cressona Mall entrance in North Manheim Township. Jayfus Haynes, 36, Pottsville, ran a red light and struck a turning vehicle driven by Michael Santella Jr., 62, Auburn. Both vehicles were not drivable. Drivers were evaluated by Schuylkill EMS.

Theft: State police were dispatched to Route 61 South in North Manheim Township for the reported theft of a catalytic converter off of a U-Haul. The theft occurred between Nov. 11 and 13. Theft: On Nov. 11 at about 4:45 a.m. state police were called to 482 Suedberg Road in Pine Grove Township for a reported theft. Truck driver Ahmed Abdelghaffar, 43, Tampa, Fla., told police a man helped him back in his trailer at the truck stop. After assisting him, he ran up to the cab of the truck and grabbed the driver’s cellphone, valued at $600, then fled on foot. Police caught the man and identified him as Gavin Pillsbury, 24, Pine Grove. He was charged with theft. In a separate case, Pillsbury was charged with pulling copper flashing off of a farm sign at Oak Grove Road and Old Forge Road.

Criminal mischief: On Nov. 11 at about 9 a.m. state police were dispatched to 128 Gordon Nagle Trail in North Manheim Township for a report of criminal mischief. Troopers discovered that someone threw a 10-pound weight plate through the window of a white Honda Accord, then fled in a dark color sedan. Anyone with information should contact PSP–Schuylkill Haven and reference incident number PA2021-1499360.

Scattering rubbish: On Nov. 10 at about 9:20 a.m. state police were dispatched to Long Stretch Road in Pine Grove Township for a report of someone scattering rubbish. When police arrived, several trash bags and other garbage were scattered in the driveway. Crash: On Nov. 10 at about 9:45 p.m. state police responded to an accident on Route 443 in West Brunswick Township. Christine Hendricks, 25, Shamokin, struck a deer. Her car had disabling damage was was towed. Hendricks was not injured.

Crash: State police responded to an accident on Nov. 8 at about 4:15 p.m. on Oak Grove Road in Pine Grove Township. Lou-Ann Keefer, 66, Pine Grove, crashed into the back of a farm vehicle driven by Allen Aungst, 56, Pine Grove. Keefer’s SUV had disabling damage and was towed. The farm vehicle had minor damage to its trailer. Keefer suffered a minor injury. Aungst was not injured.

Crash: On Nov. 7 at about 8:15 p.m. state police responded to Wilder Street south of Beckville Road in Cressona. Renee Faust, 48, Schuylkill Haven, struck a deer in the road. Faust’s SUV had disabling damage to the front of the SUV. Faust was not injured.

Theft by deception: On Nov. 4, Lisa Lambert, 35, Orwigsburg, reported to state police that someone used her Access card for purchases totaling more than $400. She told police her card was lost or stolen. The card has since been canceled and the department has been notified of the fraudulent purchases.

Trespass: On Nov. 3 at about 10:35 a.m. a state police trooper was dispatched to a PPL substation in Pine Grove Township. Someone cut a fence, valued at $300, that surrounded the property. Theft: State police responded to a reported theft of a 2004 black Hyundai Elantra at Mexico Road and Bethel Road in Pine Grove Township. Roger Diem, 41, Bethel, reported the car stolen between Oct. 31 and Nov. 9. Anyone with information is asked to contact state police at 570-754-4600.

Retail theft: On Nov. 5 at about 11:45 a.m. state police were call to the Goodwill Store, Route 61 S in North Manheim Township for a retail theft. A woman in her 40s or 50s is suspected. Anyone with information is asked to call state police at 570-754-4600.

Crash: State police responded to an accident on Oct. 31 at about 5:20 p.m. on Sweet Arrow Lake Road at Chestnut Street in North Manheim Township. Vehicles driven by Donald Casper, 36, Hamburg, and Joseph Gallagher, 21, Downingtown, collided at an intersection where a stop sign was knocked down. No injuries were reported.

DUI on view drugs: On Oct. 29 at about 12:50 a.m. state police initiated a traffic stop. When the driver, Kevin Snyder, 48, Pine Grove, was contacted, he was taken into custody for suspicion of driving under the influence.

Theft by deception: On Oct. 29, a Cressona man reported to state police that he was scammed out of $4,000. He told police he responded to an email advertisement ad from Full Throttle Energy Drinks. He believed he could be compensated by the company if he placed stickers on his vehicle to advertise for the company.

Criminal mischief: State police are investigating a report of criminal mischief at Pleasant Valley Homes, 85 Pleasant Valley Road in Pine Grove Township. Sometime between Oct. 27 and 28 black spray paint was used to put a derogatory message and symbol at the front entrance. Anyone with information is asked to call state police at 570-754-4600.

Theft: State police responded to JM Auto Sales, Route 61 S in North Manheim Township for a reported theft of two catalytic converters from motor vehicles sometime between Oct. 26 and 27. Anyone with information is asked to contact PSP–Schuylkill Haven, reference incident number PA2021-1419572.

Crash: On Oct. 22 at about 12:10 a.m. state police responded to an accident on Route 183 South near Hurst Road in Wayne Township. Travis Foster, 31, Auburn, swerved to avoid hitting a deer, lost control of his pickup truck and overturned. Foster had a small laceration on his head and was transported to Lehigh Valley East by Schuylkill Valley EMS. The vehicle was towed.

Burglary: State police responded to Market Street in Auburn for a residential burglary that occurred between Oct. 20 and Oct. 23.Taken were a compound bow, straight bow, fishing rods, slot machine, electrical drill/jack hammer, compound miter saw, meat grinder, meat slicer, power tools, pipe wrench, and copper ground wire.
