Police Reports, Sept. 29, 2022

The following information comes from police reports and court records.

Public drunkenness: On Sept. 19 about 11 a.m. state police at Schuylkill Haven cited Amber Melochick, 29, Tremont, for public intoxication along Route 209 in Tremont Township.

Crash: State police responded to an accident on Route 25, 144 E. Main Street, in Hegins Township on Sept. 19 about 3 p.m. Rebekka Powers, 28, Spring Glen, was westbound when she struck the back of an SUV driven by Heath Lewis, 44, Lykens, who was slowing for a stopped vehicle turning into the driveway of Tri-Valley High School. There were no injuries.

Harassment: On Sept. 16 about 8:30 p.m. state police responded to the parking lot of Blue Mountain High School in North Manheim Township. Trooper cited David Breon, 68 of Port Clinton, a school-contracted security guard, for harassment for striking India Bridges, 31, of Pottsville multiple times with a traffic baton.

Crash: On Sept. 14 about 10:10 a.m. state police responded to a crash in the Giant Market parking lot in North Manheim Township. Edward Balonis, 62, Pottsville, and an unknown person were backing out of their parking spaces and collided. Both vehicles sustained minor damage. The unidentified driver left in a gold-colored sedan without providing any information

Crash: On Sept. 13 about 10:30 p.m. state police responded to a crash on South Greenview Road at West Market Street in North Manheim Township. Gwen Rego, 43, Macungie, was southbound West Market Street and stopped at the intersection to make a left turn onto South Greenview Road. Rego overcompensated the turn and crashed into a ditch. Rego was not injured.

Criminal mischief: On Sept. 11 about 1:15 p.m. state police responded to Route 183 south in Wayne Township for a report a person seen through video surveillance tampering with fuel pump seals. The investigation is ongoing.

Crash: On Sept. 11 about 2:45 p.m. state police responded to a crash on Gordon Nagle Trail in North Manheim Township. Amy Dunkle, 22, Orwigsburg, was northbound near SPCA Road when she lost control on a curve and struck a guardrail.

Theft: On Sept. 9 state police responded to Long Run Road in North Manheim Township for a report of two unidentified men entering a vehicle and stealing $8.

Theft: On Sept. 8 state police responded to a reported theft. An Ashland woman won $1,040 at a skills machine at the Pilot Truck Stop, 482 Suedberg Road,  Pine Grove Township. The woman was only compensated $150 because the redemption machine was out of service. She later tried to redeem the balance but was unable to due because he voucher had been redeemed by someone else.

Theft: On Sept. 7 about 9:15 a.m. state police responded to 419 Suedberg Road, Pine Grove Township, for a report of a stolen car. Investigators arrested  Bryant Joy, 32, Cazenovia, N.Y., about three hours later.

Crash: On Sept. 7 about 11:08 a.m. state police responded to an accident on Route 61 in West Brunswick Township. Emily Gombosi, 30, Allentown, was making a left turn onto Cinema Boulevard when a vehicle driven by Ryan Leibson,19, Orwigsburg, collided with hers.

Theft: On Sept. 7 about 2 p.m. state police were called to Home Depot, 600 Terry Rich Blvd., Saint Clair, for a report that 30 rolls of wiring had been stolen. Twenty-three spools were recovered. The investigation continues.

Crash: On Sept. 6 about 6:10 a.m. state police responded to a crash on Route 125 near Walnut Hollow Road in Eldred Township. Earl Huling, 50, Coal Township, lost control on a curve due to slippery conditions. His vehicle struck a tree and overturned. He was transported by Hegins Area Ambulance Association to Geisinger Shamokin Hospital for treatment.

Theft: On Sept. 3 about 11 a.m. state police responded to Sweet Arrow Lake Road in Pine Grove Township for a reported theft of a kayak. The investigation is ongoing.
