From Reading District Libraries
What’s more punk rock than a public library? On Tuesday, October 7 at 7 p.m., acclaimed author, tattoo artist, and Latin teacher Phuc Tran will visit Sinking Spring Public Library for an evening that blends memoir, music, and literature with a bold “Library After Dark” twist.
Tran, known for his award-winning memoir Sigh, Gone: A Misfit’s Memoir of Great Books, Punk Rock, and the Fight to Fit In, shares stories of growing up as a Vietnamese refugee in the nearby small town of Carlisle, Pennsylvania. His unforgettable journey weaves together a love of punk music, the power of classic literature, and the universal search for identity and belonging.
This special after-hours event turns up the volume—no shushing, no storytimes—just a laid-back space for big ideas, great conversation, and a few fun extras inspired by the book.
