Due to the lack of precipitation over the last few months, the Reading Area Water Authority is issuing a Mandatory Conservation Notice for the City of Reading and the surrounding service areas.
A mandatory 15 percent water use restriction is in effect at this time.
The following are prohibited: watering lawns and outdoor areas; watering golf courses; washing vehicles, paved surfaces, or other outdoor areas; filling or topping off pools; or any act of wasting water.
The solution to this situation is rainfall, which is not expected in the next five to seven days.
RAWA will provide updates on its website and via telephone. In the meantime, learn more about the emergency water restrictions and water conservation tips at the links.
