Reading Fightin Phils are beaten by Somerset Patriots

The Reading Fightin Phils gave up 18 hits in falling 11-2 to the Somerset Patriots in an Eastern League game Saturday at FirstEnergy Stadium.

The Patriots (2-0) scored two runs in the second, one in the fourth, five in the fifth and three in the ninth.

Reading starter Adam Leverett (0-1) allowed three runs on six hits in 3.2 innings. Mike Adams followed and gave up five runs on five hits and a walk in one inning.

Bubby Rossman, who entered in the eighth, allowed three runs on four hits and two walks in 1.2 innings.

Logan O’Hoppe went 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI for Reading. Josh Ockimey also doubled for the Fightin Phils (0-2).

Rodolfo Duran, who played 31 games for Reading last year, went 3-for-5 with a solo home run for Somerset.

Ken Waldichuk (1-0) gave up two hits, walked two and struck out seven in five scoreless innings.
