Reading Fightin Phils win on walk-off home run in 10th inning

Felix Reyes hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the 10th inning to give the Reading Fightin Phils a 4-3 win over the Harrisburg Senators on Sunday in the final game of the six-game series.

Robert Moore started at second for Reading (7-18) in the bottom of the 10th and advanced to third on a wild pitch by Chance Huff. Reyes then belted a two-run homer to end the game.

The Fightin Phils took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning when Moore led off with a home run.

Reading extended the lead in the bottom of the second inning when Moore walked and Elio Prado doubled on a ground ball to center field. Aidan Miller had an RBI single that scored Moore to make it 2-0.

Harrisburg (13-14) responded in the top of the third as CJ Stubbs doubled to center field and Viandel Pena drove in Stubbs with a double. Pena then scored on a  Yohandy Morales single to tie the game at 2.

The game remained tied into the 10th inning.

Pena started at second for Harrisburg in the top of the tenth and scored on Phillip Glasser’s single, setting the stage for Reyes’ dramatic home run in the bottom of the 10th.

Wesley Moore (1-1) got the win for Reading.

The Fightin Phils start a six-game series with Binghamton Rumble Ponies at 6:07 p.m. Tuesday at Binghamton.
