Members of the local community are encouraged to join a fun and relaxed bike ride through West Reading and the surrounding area to help celebrate National Bike Month.

Registration for the bike ride will open at 6:30 a.m. on Friday, May 16, and the ride will start at 7 a.m. that day, rain or shine, at the Masonic Lodge parking lot, 400 S. 7th Ave., West Reading, across from the doctor’s office building.

Participants must be 18 years or older. Bicycles and helmets are required to participate. Refreshments will be available free for participants before and after the ride.

Please note: Event participants are responsible for their own safety while on the road. Bike Safety Inspections, such as tire pressure, loose bolts, seat adjustments, etc., will be provided by JBs Bike Shop.

The leisurely ride is about six miles, will take less than an hour to complete, and is carried out with the help of law enforcement bike patrol personnel from the City of Reading and Borough of West Reading. A very special presentation will occur immediately following the event!

Increase the fun and form workplace teams now for a chance to win prizes!

Thank you to the West Reading Police Department and City of Reading Police Department for their support of the Bike to Work Week Ride.
