Reading Public Museum to Host Wild Kratts: Ocean Adventure! and Wild Kratts: Creature Power!

From Reading Public Museum

Wild Kratts®: Creature Power! and Wild Kratts®: Ocean Adventure! – two new touring exhibitions created by the Minnesota Children’s Museum and the creators of the top-rated PBS Kids TV series “Wild Kratts®” – will open at the Reading Public Museum on Saturday, Jan. 18, and remain on display through Sunday, May 11.

Filling 5,600 square feet of exhibition space at the Reading Public Museum, Wild Kratts®: Creature Power! and Wild Kratts®: Ocean Adventure! are adventurous exhibitions focused on cultivating STEM skills in children ages 3 to 9. Families will explore animal habitats from around the globe and discover incredible creature powers while immersed in inquiry-based, hands-on exploration of the Wild Kratts’s world.

Wild Kratts®: Ocean Adventure! presents age-appropriate science concepts central to ocean habitats and the lives of marine animals. Activities will include miniaturizing in a tidal pool, crawling through an anemone, and hunting for lunch like a lobster. In the shallow seas, visitors will create their own dolphin name and work at a shark cleaning station. While in the deep sea, they will explore hydrothermal vents and a glowing grotto, and steer an Amphisub through the ocean depths in search of rarely seen creatures of the ocean floor.

Wild Kratts®: Creature Power explores four vastly different animal habitats: the tropical rainforest, the Antarctic, the Australian Outback desert, and the neighborhood. As they make their way through the various habitats, visitors will learn and try out various Creature Powers®, such as sneaking through the forest using the stealth of a jaguar, swinging through the trees like a spider monkey, and testing their hops against a kangaroo.

“This exhibit will get kids moving and thinking while they explore important concepts in science and the natural world,” said Chris Kratt, executive producer of Wild Kratts and co-founder of Kratt Brothers Company.

Wild Kratts®: Creature Power! and Wild Kratts®: Ocean Adventure! are made possible locally through the generous support of Penske, The Neag Family Foundation, and Tower Health.
