The Reading Royals announced their 2022 training camp roster and schedule on Saturday.
Reading’s 24-man training camp roster features two goaltenders, nine defenseman and 13 forwards. Only five players on the roster took the ice for the Royals last season: forward Tyler Kirkup and defensemen Will MacKinnon, Garrett McFadden, Dominic Cormier and Mike Chen.
Six of the 24 players are on tryout contracts, as Reading will have to trim its roster to 21 active players by Oct.19. The Royals’ training camp will run from Sunday until Tuesday, Oct. 18.
Reading will play at Adirondack in the first preseason game on Friday, Oct. 14, at 7 p.m. before hosting the Thunder in the final preseason game on Saturday, Oct. 15, at 7 p.m. Fans can attend the preseason game on Oct. 15 at Santander Arena for free with the donation of a canned food item.
Royals practices will be open to the public on Thursday, Oct.13, and Tuesday, Oct.18, from 10-11:15 a.m. Access to Santander Arena for practice will be through the Team Store, located at the corner of 8th and Penn streets.
