Taylor Gooch and Brayden Low each scored goals and Hayden Hawkey made 25 saves as the Reading Royals beat the Trois-Rivieres Lions 2-1 Saturday in an ECHL game at Santander Arena.
Gooch gave the Royals a 1-0 lead on a power-play goal just 56 seconds into the game.
Low made it 2-0 at 8:18 of the third.
Trois-Rivieres cut it to 2-1 at 10:45 on a goal by Olivier Archambault.
Hawkey made six saves the rest of the way to preserve the one-goal lead.
Carmine-Anthony Pagliarulo made 27 saves for the Lions.
Reading has won three straight and seven of its last eight.
