Reading Royals’ four-game winning streak snapped with loss to Worcester

Reading’s four-game winning streak came to an end on Saturday night at Worcester.

The Royals fell to the Railers 2-1 in the second game in two days between the teams. Reading beat Worcester 6-3 on Friday night.

The Railers took a 2-0 lead in the first period on goals from forward Brent Beaudoin and defenseman Will Cullen.

The Royals’ lone goal was scored by forward Jacob Pritchard midway through the third period. Pritchard was selected as an ECHL All-Star on Wednesday.

Reading outshot the Railers 36-23. Royals goaltender Kirill Ustimenko made 21 saves.

The two teams will face off for the third consecutive game Monday at 1 p.m. at Santander Arena in their seventh overall meeting since Dec. 31. Reading leads the season series 4-2.
