Reading Royals lose to Trois-Rivieres Lions in a shootout

The Reading Royals fell to the Trois-Rivières Lions 4-3 in a shootout Saturday at Trois-Rivieres, Quebec.

Cameron Hillis, the Lions’ fifth shooter, gave Trois-Rivieres a 2-1 lead in the shootout. Jacob Pritchard failed to tie it for the Royals.

Reading was looking to sweep the two-game road series after winning 4-3 Friday night. The victory for the Lions’ was the first at home in franchise history. This is their first season.

The Royals led 1-0, 2-1 and 3-2. Thomas Ebbing, Brayden Low and Patrick Bajkov scored for Reading.

The Lions tied it with 13:18 left in the third on a goal by Justin Ducharme.

Pat Nagle made 42 saves for Reading. Kevin Poulin had 24 saves for Trois-Rivieres.
